Hello, all you beautiful people!

Now that the Benefit is over, I’m looking around at the carnage that was my life before this all began, and realize that *I* need some personal help now, as awkward as it is to ask. Everything outside the focus of putting this thing together was horribly neglected for almost two months, and it all suffered. Seein’ as my job is commission only, I pretty much didn’t make anything over that time, and am now feeding plain pasta to my dawwgy & me because it’s pretty much all we have left. She doesn’t mind because I do put a little butter on it, but she’s cool like that. I mind. I’m sick of the shit. I’m broke, hungry, need to move in a month, and need help, so I’m asking for it.

I’m putting the word out – I need to get work back in gear last week, and maybe you or a friend of yours can help. Here’s how:

I work for a company that brokers janitorial contracts. My job is to go out & find companies to do cleaning estimates for & show them why we rock. They usually agree. If they choose to switch over to us, I then make a commission from getting the contract and managing it, making sure that everyone is happy. Some of the places we do are The Fillmore, The Warfield, The Legion of Honor, Mighty, and a number of office buildings, retail stores, bars, and various commercial buildings in the bay area. Pretty much *anything* commercial with a cleaning of at least once a week. I make my money selling and managing these contracts, but first I need to just get my foot in the door and do an estimate! (That’s where you come in.)

All I need is a name (and number if possible) for anyone on the inside of anywhere. It just simply turns that cold call into a somewhat warm call when I talk to the facilities manager and mention their (or your) name, and lets them be a bit more receptive.

If you aren't sure if something would be helpful, ask me! Chances are, it will be.

We're going to need a few bodies to help out at the benefit. Like attending to the silent auction (& other item) table, (the other items being band CD's, the CD's I'm making, and other stuff that's cash on the spot), as wel as a few more people. I'm not sure exactly what, but I'm thinking coat check, a couple more people for the door (maybe) and other things I can't think of right now.

If anyone would like to volunteer their time, you'll of course get in free and you'll have a whole bunch of people appreciating your kindness and generosity!

I know there have been a couple people volunteering alot earlier, but in the madness I didn't think to write down names, for which I do apologise. If you're still available, please pipe up again!

Anyone have something like that, or know where we can find/rent it? I want to have better noise dampening in between the rooms. I'm looking for something around 8' (or wider would be great too) x 20 - 25'.

If necessary, a bunch of smaller (but not too small!) pieces would work too. We've looked at renting sound cloth & struck out, as the one place (of 5) that has it already has it rented.

If someone has any large pieces of heavy fabric, we would love to borrow them, and could even pay you a small fee if necessary for your trouble. Please let me know ASAP - Thanks!

If my current icky sicky thingy goes away by then, I'll be bringing my massage chair to the benefit.

I should be good for 1-1.5 hrs of work (donations for Headless accepted--$5-10 for 10-15 minutes is customary). If there are other massagey folks there, I'd be happy to share my chair.

I'm currently with limited computer access, so we'll probably just figure it out on the spot. I can't stay too late as I have a job interview in the morning!!!

I have deleted all the versions in my email (my inboxes keep overflowing) and strangely enough it doesn't seem to be posted anywhere on tribe. What's up with that? Am I just blind? Shouldn't it at least be posted as an event on this tribe? And preferrably go out to all people we know as a Tribe event message?

I didn't see it in Steven Raspa's Newsletter either but maybe I'm just blind.

Okay, my first choice for headlining band, F-Space, can't make it as Scott is climbing rocks or some shit like that. Someone mentioned that they could get The Mermen, which would be cool - anyone else have any suggestions? Also, I need filler. They have a great backroom that most of you who went to the While Holly benefit are familiar with, so we could do something similar there. Pete (owner of Mighty) says no open flame, so there goes about 2/3 of what I would like to do.

If we can keep it along a fire theme, that of course would be ultrasuperbitchengroovy - let your twisted minds wander as I ain't done nothing like this before and I could use your connections, creative minds, sweat and time.

Okay, I've got pings out to Mark Growden & Ricky Lee Robinson. Waiting for replies. The singer for Luxxury would have to break his own engagenment party to attend so that isn't likely, but he did say he'd ask his fiancee. I hope I don't get him in trouble.

We have Fierce & Mighty, Sadie Lune (as Stigmata Hari and other incantations) Sheriff Wendy & The Quintessential Dixie making the base for the "Hotter Than Your Damn Fire" Department, and I still need to contact Eva Destruction. Why haven't I yet? Because I'm lame.

We have the Sultry Cabaret Stylings of our own Megan Lynch, who most of us know & love as Spidra Webster.

Rock fucking on. We're doing pretty damn good so far - Beautiful voices, beautifully twisted minds, beautiful bodies, and a beautiful place to enjoy it all.

The short of it: There was a serious fire in April at Headless Point artist
studios, the birthplace of many amazing art projects by Dan Das Mann and
others living and working there. The fire began in the welding area and
consumed most of the building and Lola's Cafe next door, including the
apartments above the Cafe. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt, but the
damage is extensive. The artists living and working at Headless can use some
help and so we’re throwing an uber-bitchin’ benefit for them at MIGHTY!
They need any help we can offer to get back on their feet. Help them rise from the

The Good News is that insurance will cover part of the loss and two rooms
were spared. The bad news is that a lot of heavy equipment was lost and both
Michelle Burke and my dear friend, Aaron "Slim" Muszalski (maker of The
Dominos, Larry's Lucky Dice Club and The Duck at Burning Man)lost just about
all their personal belongings, including their home. From what I understand, Aaron had just gotten all of his stuff out of storage, and Michelle lost a 15 year collection of amazing vintage clothing.
